The West of England Partnership's vision to improve transport across the region

Road network

Managing the road network, particularly congestion is one of the key priorities for the four local authorities in the West of England partnership.

In the Joint Local Transport Plan measures to improve the road networks includes managing traffic flow, junction improvements, maintenance of roads and bridges and road design. These are all working to keep our roads free from congestion and designed for the safety of all road users.

A number of road links are proposed including the South Bristol Link, the Stoke Gifford Link as part of the North Fringe to Hengrove Package, and in the longer term the M5 Junction 21 bypass and the Callington Road Link/Bath Road improvements.
