There are a variety of transport options available across the West of England Partnership region.
Bus
There are several private bus operators in region, working with the West of England Partnership to deliver a coherent and coordinated local bus network to get you where you need to be. More information.
Train
Information on all train services in the region is available on the national rail website which for the technologically advanced, can be accessed via WAP enabled mobile phones. More information.
Community transport
Community transport is a range of transport provided by community-based voluntary organisations with support from local authorities, to cater for local transport needs which are not met by the commercial sector. More information.
Ferry
There are a number of ferry boat companies that operate commuter services as well as leisure trips and educational tours throughout the Historic Harbour of Bristol. More information.
Taxis
There are two types of taxi: hackney carriages and private hire vehicles. Local authorities set fares charged by hackney carriages whilst private hire vehicles operate on the bases that the fares are agreed between the driver and the customer. More information.
Rapid Transit
Bus Rapid Transit will be a rapid, reliable, frequent and punctual form of public transport that will feature segregated bus lanes, using modern up to date sustainable vehicles that will link outlying areas with the major employment and shopping hubs. More information.
