Travel Plans
A workplace travel plan is a package of measures designed to reduce single-occupancy car use for journeys to and from work and for business travel.
Travel Plans aim to promote more sustainable forms of travel, such as car-sharing, walking, cycling and public transport, tailored to suit the needs of the organisation.
The West of England Travel Plan Awards has been rewarding organisations for their travel plans since 2001. The Award scheme is operated jointly by Bath and North East Somerset, Bristol City, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire Councils.
This year we are trialling five new Special Awards with only one winner for each. These Awards are open to all businesses in the West of England and may be applied for in conjunction with the main Travel Plan Award or separately.
All organisations regardless of size within the West of England area are welcome to apply for a Travel Plan Award. In 2011 the Awards Ceremony is kindly being hosted by Bristol Airport on the 23rd September.
